  • VUNO 3D imaging team (team BLU3 [blue]) is a group of enthusiastic, proficient, and warm-hearted AI Researchers and Engineers. Our mission is to develop AI-supported 3D medical imaging pipeline, mainly Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT), designed to support diagnosis made by radiologists.
  • Our team encourages open and friendly atmosphere: everyone is free to share oneโ€™s research interests and innovative thoughts. Also, you may participate in active collaboration opportunities with researchers and engineers in VUNO. The events include but not limited to VUNO research seminar (V-talk), journal club, coffee time, and team workshop.

๐Ÿ“Œ About the Role (Brain part - Research Intern)

  • As a Research Scientist/Engineer at the Brain Part of team BLU3, you will lead our efforts in developing an AI-enabled neuroimaging pipeline that supports the diagnosis of dementia. Our software supports radiologists to identify brain atrophy and vascular diseases.
  • Collaborating with hospitals will provide you with the opportunity to develop AI algorithms using real-world data, which presents both intriguing and challenging prospects.
  • Our research scientists and engineers draw on their expertise in deep learning, computer vision, medical imaging, neuroscience, and psychiatry to spearhead the fight against dementia with artificial intelligence. Join our team at the forefront of this journey.


๐Ÿšฉ Roles &Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate innovative AI algorithms for brain MR image analysis and interpretation.
  • Conduct explanatory data analysis to create data-centric AI algorithms focused on diagnosing neurodegenerative disorders using informative brain MRI data.
  • Collaborate with product management and software engineering teams to build, optimize, deploy, and maintain AI pipelines.
  • Present research findings and developments verbally and in writing at top-tier ML conferences, clinical journals, and/or conferences.
  • Collaborate with medical doctors and other researchers to translate research achievements into practical applications for the medical field, especially in neurology and neuroradiology.
  • Keep updated with the latest medical imaging research trends and share knowledge with the team.


๐Ÿšฉ Requirements

Qualifications

  • B.A. in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Brain & Cognitive Science, or related field; or equivalent combination of degree and experience
  • Enthusiasm in clinical application of AI and computer vision technologies
  • Strong interests in Computer Engineering and Machine Learning/Deep Learning(e.g. Linux, Python, PyTorch etc.)
  • Business-level proficiency in Korean (both verbal and written)


Preferred Experiences

  • Currently pursuing Master's degree in related field or already obtained.
  • 1st author of paper(s) in Computer Vision ML/DL or Medical Imaging conferences or clinical journals.
  • Research experience with real-world medical imaging data and/or collaboration with tertiary hospitals in South Korea or worldwide.
  • Contributions made to open-source repositories in fields like Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or similar areas
  • Winning prizes in competitive Computer Vision/Medical Imaging challenges(e.g. kaggle)
  • Fluency in English (both verbal and written)
