🚀 About VUNO 3D Imaging Team

  • VUNO 3D imaging team (team BLU3 [blue]) is a group of enthusiastic, proficient, and warm-hearted AI Researchers and Engineers. Our mission is to develop AI-supported 3D medical imaging pipeline, mainly Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT), designed to support diagnosis made by radiologists.
  • Our team encourages open and friendly atmosphere: everyone is free to share one’s research interests and innovative thoughts. Also, you may participate in active collaboration opportunities with researchers and engineers in VUNO. The events include but not limited to VUNO research seminar (V-talk), journal club, coffee time, and team workshop.

📌 About the Role (Lung part - Research Scientist/Engineer)

  • As a Research Scientist/Engineer at the Lung Part of team BLU3, you will lead our efforts in developing an AI-enabled CT Imaging pipeline that supports the diagnosis of lung diseases. Our software supports radiologists to identify lung nodule, lung cancer and lung diseases.
  • Collaborating with hospitals will provide you with the opportunity to develop AI algorithms using real-world data, which presents both intriguing and challenging prospects.
  • Our research scientists and engineers draw on their expertise in deep learning, computer vision, medical imaging, radiology, and respiratory to spearhead the fight against lung cancer with artificial intelligence. Join our team at the forefront of this journey.


🚩 Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate innovative AI algorithms for lung CT image analysis and interpretation.
  • Conduct explanatory data analysis to create data-centric AI algorithms focused on diagnosing lung nodules and other lung lesions using informative lung CT data.
  • Collaborate with product management and software engineering teams to build, optimize, deploy, and maintain AI pipelines.
  • Present research findings and developments verbally and in writing at top-tier ML conferences, clinical journals, and/or conferences.
  • Collaborate with medical doctors and other researchers to translate research achievements into practical applications for the medical field, especially in radiology and respiratory.
  • Keep updated with the latest medical imaging research trends and share knowledge with the team.


🚩 Requirements

Qualifications

  • MSc. or 2+ years of practical experience in ML/DL, with a concentration on computer vision, medical imaging or related field
  • Proficient in Python and machine learning frameworks(e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow)
  • Author of paper(s) in Computer Vision, ML/DL or Medical Imaging conferences or journals
  • Expertise in AI model development, including data collection, annotation, preprocessing, and management
  • Business-level proficiency in Korean (both verbal and written)


Preferred Experiences

  • Experience in applying AI methodologies to commercial products
  • 1st author of paper(s) in top-tier Computer Vision ML/DL or Medical Imaging conferences or clinical journals(e.g. CVPR/ICCV/ECCV, NeurIPS/ICLR/ICML, or MedIA/TMI/MICCAI or Radiology/AJRCCM/KJR)
  • Contributions made to open-source repositories in fields like Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or similar areas
  • Research experience with real-world medical imaging data and/or collaboration with tertiary hospitals in South Korea or worldwide.
  • Winning prizes in competitive Computer Vision/Medical Imaging challenges(e.g. kaggle)
  • Fluency in English (both verbal and written)
